This JPG to MP4 converter turns a picture into a real MP4 video, free, in your browser. Pick one JPG or a few, set how many seconds the clip should run, and press Make Video. You get an H.264 MP4 that plays anywhere a video is expected, and nothing is uploaded.

How to Convert JPG to MP4

  1. Select Pictures: Press Select Pictures or drag a JPG onto the page, and add one picture or several.
  2. Set the length: Move the Seconds per photo slider anywhere from 1 to 30 seconds. One picture at 30 seconds makes a 30-second clip.
  3. Pick a shape: 9:16 for a status or story, 16:9 for YouTube, or 1:1 for a square post. The page suggests one from the picture itself.
  4. Add a song: Add a song if you want one, then press Trim to keep the part you like.
  5. Make Video: Press Make Video, then Download MP4. On a phone you can also press Share and send it straight to WhatsApp or Instagram.

Why Turn a Picture into a Video?

Some places only take video. A story with a song, a video editor timeline, a YouTube upload or a shop TV screen all want an MP4, not a JPG. So does a slide that must stay up for a set time. This tool gives you that file in a few taps.

A video also plays with sound. Put a product photo, a poster or a greeting on screen for 15 seconds with a song behind it. That works as a status, a story or a short ad.

Need a full slideshow with many photos and transitions instead? The photos to video maker is the same engine set up for that job.

PNG to MP4, JPEG, WebP and HEIC Work Too

The page says JPG because that is what most people have. It reads PNG, JPEG, WebP and iPhone HEIC pictures as well, and you can mix them in one clip.

A video cannot be see-through, so the clear parts of a PNG come out dark. If a picture does not match the video shape, the gaps at the sides are filled with a soft blurred copy of it. Pick Crop to fill to trim the edges instead. To frame a picture exactly before you start, the crop image tool cuts it to 9:16 or 16:9 first.

How Long Can a JPG Video Be?

Each picture can stay on screen from 1 to 30 seconds, in half-second steps. For a longer clip, add the same picture again and give each copy up to 30 seconds. With a few pictures, tap any one of them to set its own time.

A 30-second clip from one picture is about 26 MB at 1080p and about 15 MB at 720p. The video runs at 30 frames per second. The picture is scaled to 1080 x 1920, 1920 x 1080 or 1080 x 1080 to match the shape you picked.

By default the picture zooms in slowly by 8 percent, so a single image does not look frozen. Set Motion to Off if you want a perfectly still frame, which is the right choice for a slide or a poster.

Add Music to a JPG Video

Press Add a song and pick an MP3, M4A or WAV file. With Fit video to song switched on, one picture stays up for the length of the song part you chose, up to 30 seconds. The clip ends when the music ends.

Press Trim to pick that part. Drag the two handles on the sound wave and press Play this part to check it. The sound fades out over the last 1.5 seconds. For a silent loop with no sound at all, images to GIF may suit you better.

Your Picture Never Leaves Your Browser

The JPG is read and the MP4 is written on your own phone or computer. Nothing is uploaded, and we never see the picture or the video. The page loads a small video library from our server when it opens, and that is the only download. Close the tab and your files are gone from it.

Rendering a 30-second clip takes a few seconds on a computer and a little longer on an older phone. Keep the tab open while the bar fills. If your browser cannot write MP4 files, the page tells you before you start and offers a WebM video instead.

FAQ

Can I convert one JPG to MP4 for WhatsApp status?
Yes. Pick 9:16, set the slider to 30 seconds or less, add a song if you want one, and press Make Video. The MP4 uploads as a normal status video.

Is there a watermark or a limit?
No watermark, no sign-up and no daily limit. The only cap is 30 seconds per picture and 100 pictures in one clip.

Why does the picture move?
Gentle zoom is on by default to keep a still image from looking stuck. Change Motion to Off for a fixed frame, or pick Dynamic when you want a stronger zoom with a little drift.

Will the video look as sharp as the JPG?
It is close. The picture is scaled to fit a 1080p or 720p frame, then compressed as H.264 the way a phone camera video is. A 4000 pixel wide photo is scaled down to fit, and fine detail is softened a little by the video compression.

Can I use a PNG or a screenshot instead of a JPG?
Yes. PNG, WebP, JPEG and HEIC all work, and a screenshot is just a PNG.
