Note:- You can reduce the resolution of up to 10 images at once.

Reducing image resolution means lowering the pixel count of a photo, for example from 4000x3000 down to 1920x1080. Set the width and height you need below, and the tool keeps the aspect ratio so your photo does not stretch. Upload up to 10 photos at once and download the resized files in seconds.

  1. Upload your photo. Click Select Images or drag files into the box. JPG, PNG, WebP, and HEIC files all work.
  2. Set the new width and height. Type the pixel size you need. Leave Maintain Aspect Ratio checked so nothing looks stretched.
  3. Click Reduce Resolution. Your photo uploads, resizes on our server, and downloads back to you within seconds.

What Is Image Resolution?

Image resolution is the number of pixels a photo contains, written as width x height, such as 1920x1080. More pixels means more color data, so a higher-resolution photo carries more detail and a bigger file. Cut the pixel count and both the detail and the file size drop with it.

Resolution vs. File Size: What Is the Difference?

Lowering resolution and compressing a file solve different problems. Resolution reduction removes pixels, so a 4000x3000 photo resized to 1920x1080 has fewer dots to store and often drops from 8MB to near 2MB. Compression keeps every pixel in place and re-encodes the color data at lower quality instead, which is how that same photo can shrink to 500KB without its dimensions changing. Pick resolution for an exact pixel request, and compression for a KB limit. Need just a KB number? Our image size reducer targets an exact kilobyte count instead.

FAQ

Does reducing resolution reduce quality?
Yes. Lowering resolution removes pixels permanently, so fine detail is gone for good. Keep a copy of your original file if you need the full-size version later.

What resolution do job and admission portals usually ask for?
Most ask for a width between 200 and 600 pixels, well under Full HD. Check the number on the form and type it into the width field.

Can I get the lost detail back after resizing?
Not fully. Removed pixels do not return, so keep the original file safe. Our image quality enhancer can sharpen a soft result, though it cannot rebuild the original pixel count.
